About one quarter of all patent attorneys in Germany work as patent assessor in an industrial company. The job profile of a patent attorney differs from that of a patent attorney in a law firm, since the main focus is on applying for industrial property rights for one's own products and on the question of whether one's own products possibly infringe the industrial property rights of third parties. However, questions regarding patent strategies and license negotiations are also part of the job.
